The Flu Can Travel Too!

When travelling, Jordan Rubin, N.M.D., Ph.D., recommends practicing advanced hygiene. Since you are exposed to so many germs-sitting on a plane with so many other people (some of them sneezing) and using the same small washrooms- you can get easily get sick. He suggests filling a sink or bowl with warm water and 3 tablespoons of iodized salt (making sure the sink is cleaned with hot water first). Dunk your face in a sink or a bowl and "blow out"your nose to clear the nasal passages. This is easy to do when travelling (do it when you arrive at your hotel) and it's also great help with sinus problems, allergies or a runny nose attributed to a cold.
