Types of Preserves

1. Jams - are cooked mixtures of fruit with sugar that are boiled and bottled.
2. Marmalades - are always made with citrus fruits.
3. Jellies - take longer to prepare than jams; the end product being clearer and smoother.
4. Chutneys - are made from finely chopped ingredients.
5. Pickling - utilises vinegar as the preserving agent.
