This to me is an ominous sign of the times. The rfid technology is being incorporated into many items, such as credit cards and passports, to enable wireless, touchless identification. There are reportedly even some people demanding to have these chips embedded in their bodies! It’s beyond me how anyone would even think of doing that.
There is another insidious aspect of this technology that I only just became aware of. Apparently, thieves and pickpockets are able to read the radio signals emitted from these wireless chips and steal your information without even having to touch you or your pocket! Well, it also turns out that there is a company that has a product that can prevent these thieves from getting your information.
