carnitine deficiency

Here’s yet another idea that I discovered that might be making you fatter than you should be. You could be suffering from a carnitine deficiency. Great! Well what is carnitine, and why is it deficient?
Carnitine is a compound in our cells that helps the fat that we digest makes it all the way to the fat burning furnaces in our cells known as mitochondria. When we don’t have it or don’t have enough of it, the fat that we consume in our diets does not get used up, and so the body has to put it somewhere in the meantime until it can come up with a better idea.
