document scanning

When scanning documents like a birth certificate, it’s important to know what you’re doing - or what the person who is scanning your document is doing. You would assume that document scanning is a fairly simple one-step process … And it is if you’re making an honest reproduction of an original document.
However issues can always arise if the company or person who is doing the scanning introduces more steps into the process or introduces additional - usually needless - processes like OCR technology (which is the technology that reads text images from a document and then tries to reproduce it on the final scan). These issues can make it harder to trust the scanned copy of the original document.
