We have been using a hosting company for over 5 years now and so we've been able to create an online presence through our websites. This seems to be the exception however, and I'm always surprised to discover that there aren't more people who have gotten their own websites. Up until recently, the answer is probably due to the fact that it hasn't been easy to use the website maker that usually is provided by most hosting companies.

But it should be a lot simpler. And when the barrier to creating a website comes down, there is going to be a rush to build websites like never before.
