My extended family on my husband's side of the family are almost all dog people. Apparently, we're the only family on this side that doesn't own or has never owned a dog.& It's fun for the kids especially when we visit our dog owning relatives and get to play with the dogs. They are fun dogs to play with.

It's never really been discussed seriously around our house about getting a dog, although my daughter has mentioned it at least once. Personally it just seems like too much added stress and work. Of course there is also added affection and joy of having a dog. But there's no question there is additional time and money involved with owning a dog.

But I'm looking at this sport dog collar today and thinking about how much fun having a dog would be. I mean, there clearly are a lot of people who are passionate about their dogs and dog sports. It doesn't seem that far removed from my own passion when I look at it this way.

Bogner

Skiing season is now over.  I was made aware of that not from personal experience but from an email I received from my brother-in-law in which he said his 7 year-old son has just finished ski lessons for the year. 

It’s amazing to think that my little nephew – who is not so little anymore – is probably whizzing down slopes that would terrify some of us 5 and 6 times his age.  But knowing my brother-in-law, he’s probably perfectly prepared and outfitted with the latest ski equipment and apparel from bogner making sure that he’s safe and warm on the ski hills.

pool sticks

In my family I have 2 brothers and we grow up together in our small village. But eventually we were separated because I have to go to school far away and then I left my country. However after many years I was able to sponsor my mother and my youngest brother. They are now living with me in the same country but different house. Sometimes we get together and go out to play billiard or pool. I have no idea what this pool look like before but then I found out that it’s billiard after all. My brother keep saying pool sticks but I had no clue what it was. Anyway the longer going out with my brother I learned a lot about pool play. Yah! That’s right women can play pool too!

As I was saying that dancing with the stars is on tonight. In fact I’m watching right now. Jeniffer is so good and elegant. Jennifer and Derek are good together. I wish her success tonight. The judges are very impressed especially Bruno. I’m very pleased too with Jennifer and Derek. They got 30 points.

Christine Nesbitt Wins Gold Medal

I was watching the 2010 winter Olympics last night while eating my dinner. Once again another Canadian Christine Nesbitt Wins Gold Medal in Ladies' 1000 Meter Speed Skating. I think she is from London Ontario if I’m not mistaken. What a great victory for all the Canadians. We are very proud once again!

Maelle Ricker won the gold medal

I was watching the winter Olympics while having my dinner tonight and the snowboard Cross was on. I can’t believe its Canadian who got the gold medal. She is from Vancouver and her name is Maelle Ricker. She was also on 4th placed in the 2006 winter Olympics and now her dream came true. Canadians are happy and proud of her. What a great news it is!

Welcome Party

Last Saturday we were invited for a welcome party. My friend’s sister came to Canada a week ago from Saudi Arabia. There was lots of Filipino food of course from letson, kare-kare, ribs, pancit and many more. One thing I notice in the house was the ping pong tables in the living room area. They have a big house so the tables fit in perfectly.
