Seeds

My daughter brought some small cups with full of seeds inside and it's actually growing now. I don't know what kind of plants they are but it's kind of interesting to see them come out. I will just keep watching them grow until it shows what kind of plants they are. I hope it okay to keep them inside the house.

Working in my Garden

This morning I did a little bit of digging in my garden. The grasses or weeds have to be gone in order for it to work well. Garden doesn’t look nice when there are weeds around the plants. But I didn’t finish everything though well at least I made an effort to do it this morning. I need to buy some soil in the supermarket. It funny thinking that we have to buy soil here in Canada for our gardens. I mean growing up in my home country I know that we didn’t buy soil. For all I know it's free!

My vegetables

I’m glad that my vegetables I grow in the backyard is doing well and looking healthy. The tomatoes are growing so fast and fruits are starting to come out. My eggplants are also flowering although it’s not as fast as the tomatoes. I also grow peppers and cucumbers. I’m hoping to see more fruit vegetables very soon!

rose festival

Tomorrow there is rose festival at the botanical gardens that I was talking about earlier. I’m really excited to be there because I just love roses. I’ve never been to a rose festival before so this is going to be my first time and as I said I am very excited. I will be taking the whole family of course!

going to Botanical Gardens

Well as I was saying in my other blog that I’m planning to go to the Botanical Gardens in Burlington tomorrow after work. I will be working tonight and finish tomorrow morning. I’ll be tired then but I will probably sleep in the car. Hopefully the weather is going to be nice.

tulips bulbs for planting

I bought some tulips a while ago to plant this fall but I didn’t get a chance to plant the bulbs. I don’t know if it’s late to plant now. I would love to see some blooming tulips in my backyard in the spring. I might try to plant next weekend if I have the time.

Red watermelon

Day225
Watermelon is one of our favourite fruits in the summer. We always buy it every time it’s on sale in the grocery store. It’s watery and taste really sweet. Some of them have seed and some are seedless. Either way we love it. My daughter especially loves watermelon and so do I.

What Do May Flowers Bring?

They say that April showers bring May flowers.” But what do May flowers bring? Well, if you are like me and most people out there they bring us and our family outdoors more often especially if the weather is nice. Many homeowners will be spending more time outside. Like me I’m working now in my backyard digging out some soil making garden beds and planting.

Garden beds

I finally dug out some garden beds for my flowers. It’s not finish yet. I still have to buy some soil. Hopefully I will be able to finish the garden beds this week so that I could plant the flowers that we sow indoor. My daughter and I planted some seeds indoors and they are now growing well.

Planting Seeds

A month ago I bought some flower and vegetable seeds to plant inside but I haven’t done it yet. On the other hand my daughter’s Grandpa brought the marigold that they planted two weeks ago and it’s now growing. It only took 3 days to come out. Tomorrow I’m planning to buy some soil for the garden and for the seeds to plant on. I need to make some flowerbeds in the back yard. We are not allowed to do some gardening in the front because the townhouse management will take care of that. They want all the front flowerbeds uniform for the unit. Oh well I guess I can plant something in the pots and put it in my front porch that will do.

Going to the park

Today wasn’t very nice outside. I was planning to go to the park today but it’s been raining all day. I guess we will go tomorrow if the weather is nice. At least tomorrow my daughter can join us in the park. The last time I went to park with my baby we had fun at the riverside. I was hoping that all the tulips and daffodils are out in the garden. I can’t wait to take pictures of the flowers.

Spring has Sprung

Spring is usually where all the tulips will come out and I haven’t seen one yet. Well I’m just here inside my house actually. We just moved in here 6 months ago so I don’t think they have flowers here before. I would really like to plant some flowers but we don’t have a very big space. We only have a little backyard and we can only touch that. We are not allowed to plant in the front. It’s townhouse that’s why?

Planting

I just bought some flower and vegetable seeds and planting stuff. I’m thinking of planting them inside and move them outside when it’s time to plant. This is going to be my first try. I hope it will work. I bought morning glory, mixed flowers and tomato. I still need to do some flower beds in the backyard since there is none out there. The former owner never plants any flowers at all so it will take a lot of work for me. I can’t wait!

Kids friendly garden

Good morning everyone! How are you this morning? It looks like we have snow today and it’s very cold outside. It’s actually started last night. We haven’t been getting snow for quite a while so this is like wow! It’s snowing. My sister would like to take some pictures with the snow you know! She’s been in Canada for almost 3 years and she complained that she has no pictures with the snow yet. Anyway back to my topic. I would like to talk about vegetable seed this morning because I’m planning to buy some. I’m planning to make a vegetable garden in my backyard. I have only small backyard so I can only plant small vegetable garden. We just moved here 5 months ago and not so big property here compared to the previous house we had. We planted lots of vegetables there like green beans, cucumber, green onions, corn, and tomatoes. This time I think I’m going to plant cucumber and tomatoes. Anyway I need to get some tips from Michelle Obama on how she built her garden at the Whitehouse with her kids. I heard this year it’s getting bigger. I believe my plan would be perfect because my daughter loves cucumber and tomatoes. It’s definitely a kids friendly garden for sure!
